Back to Bintulu

On 24 March'09, we were back on the road again. This is our 13th trip to Bintulu.

Weather wise, fine and cloudy for most of the journey. Above pix shows the entrance to Sri Aman town where we dropped by for lunch break. The harvesting time was almost done as we drove on this journey through the whole length of Sarawak countryside from Kuching to Bintulu. The padi fields looked brown and abandoned after the harvesting period.

We parked our car at the town's green space where hawkers were seen displaying their jungle produces under the shade of large angsana trees.

Signs and Sighs!

Despite the prohibition on trading by the pedestrian mall ( see the yellow signboard in the background), traders have taken a blind eye to the notice. This street was formerly a throughfare for vehicles. But its value as a trading arena has tremendously improved when transformed to a pedestrian mall.

India Street Pedestrian Mall

On the way to the Indian Mosque is this pedestrian mall. Hundreds of small stalls line the street displaying goods, drinks, fruits and many more items.

Fashionable scarves

Is this the latest fashionable scarf? Is it not too gaudy? Or too plain? Hmm...there's so much to choose from. This seems to be reeling in the minds of potential customers to the shop above as they scan the the available choices. You can get a beautiful scarf for RM 15 at the Gambier Street bazaar in Kuching.
